Member Society of NADFAS, Reg. Charity No. 293229

Bancroft's Decorative and Fine Arts Society was formed as an independent charity in 1979 by members of the local community and members of the School's Senior Management Team.  It is a member society of NADFAS - The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts - a nationwide organisation of more than 330 local societies and over 90,000 members with a mutual interest in the decorative arts.

The Society continues to enjoy a close association with the School.  The Head is our President and we meet in the Prep School Hall.  We also make annual contributions toward the music tuition fees of promising musicians from the School.

Our aims are to promote an interest in and increased knowledge of decorative and fine arts.  We enjoy lectures from well-qualified speakers on a variety of  art and art history subjects and we occasionally hold study days to explore a subject in greater depth.  In parallel with this programme we have  a programme of visits and an annual  five day 'holiday'. Lectures  are held on the second Tuesday of the month during term time, lectures commence at 8pm with coffee and wine available from 7.30 pm.

For details of membership, please contact  our Membership Secretary Mrs Helen MacPherson on 020 8531 1140.
