Oxbridge 2010

We were delighted that eleven members of our Upper Sixth  have been offered Oxbridge places: seven at Cambridge and four at Oxford. This was for a wide range of subjects – Natural Science, Medicine, Physics, Maths, Economics, Geography and Modern Languages – but our Classicists managed a hat trick. One has been offered a place in straight Classics and two were taken for Classics and Ancient History.   As ever competition for these places was hugely fierce, which means that many talented and very worthy Bancroftians did not receive offers.  Some pupils who were disappointed may well apply post-A Level next year.  Already the Lower Sixth are snapping at their heels and we hope for another bumper crop next year.Thanks go to members of staff for mentoring, interviewing and encouraging all pupils in their applications.
